Our roving is hand dyed in the USA by Frabjous Fibers. It comes in an 8 oz. braid.

Frabjous Fibers takes extra care to create fibers that are a dream to spin. They start with high quality wool top. This one is Blue Faced Leicester Longwool, soft and lustrous. The fibers are dyed using a special method that allows the colors to blend and shift, creating a complex colorway. Each batch is heated slowly and handled gently to avoid felting. This leaves a fluffy, soft, easily draftable wool that will spin into a lovely blended yarn.

Spinning: Long staple BFL is a joy to spin. Hand dyed colors vary slightly from braid to braid. When spinning yarn from more than one braid, mix the fibers up as you go for the best color distribution.

Felting: BFL wool is a nice choice for wet felted items that will get more wear (pillows, shoes, hats, etc.), but also soft enough for items worn next to the skin.
